DIALOGUE

There is no dialogue in Minecraft, however, at the end of the game a special feature appears as the player puts an end to the Ender Dragon and enters the portal to go back home. The Credits then begin, where two people talk about the player and his journey to beating the game. They talk about the players' advancements and the players' downfalls. They talk in a poetic manner about the modeling of the game and how it was built, comparing it with worldly things. The game ends with the ‘End Poem’ signifying the importance of the universe and each individual in it. Very meaningful diction conveys the meaning poetically.  The lines, “And the universe said the darkness you fight is within you. And the universe said the light you seek is within you.” accompanied by diegetic music composed by Daniel Rosenfeld, plays throughout the Credits and makes an impact on the player’s soul and mind by making them feel light and calm. This motivating speech makes a player feel as though the universe is talking to them, making them pursue greater things in their Minecraft journey.

[Beginning of the End Poem]

I see the player you mean.
 PLAYERNAME?
Yes. Take care. It has reached a higher level now.

It can read our thoughts.
That doesn’t matter. It thinks we are part of the game.
 I like this player.

It played well.

It did not give up.
It is reading our thoughts as though they were words on a screen.
That is how it chooses to imagine many things, when it is deep in the dream of a game.

Words make a wonderful interface.

Very flexible. And less terrifying than staring at the reality behind the screen.
 They used to hear voices.

Before players could read.

Back in the days when those who did not play called the players witches, and warlocks.
And players dreamed they flew through the air, on sticks powered by demons.
 What did this player dream?

This player dreamed of sunlight and trees.

Of fire and water.

It dreamed it created.

And it dreamed it destroyed.

It dreamed it hunted, and was hunted.

It dreamed of shelter.
 Hah, the original interface.

A million years old, and it still works. But what true structure did this player create, in the reality behind the screen?

It worked, with a million others, to sculpt a true world in a fold of the universe.
And sometimes the player believed it was part of a story.

Sometimes the player believed it was reading words on a screen.
You are the player, reading words...

[Later in the Poem]

You are alive.
And sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the sunlight that came through the shuffling leaves of the summer trees.
And sometimes the player believed the universe had spoken to it through the light that fell from the crisp night sky of winter...And the universe said I love you. And the universe said you have played the game well.
And the universe said everything you need is within you. And the universe said you are stronger than you know.
And the universe said you are the daylight.
And the universe said you are the night.
And the universe said the darkness you fight is within you.
And the universe said the light you seek is within you.
[Final Lines]

And the player woke up from the dream.

And the player began a new dream.

And the player dreamed again, dreamed better.
And the player was the universe.
 And the player was love.
 You are the player.
 Wake up.

PLAYER RESPONSE

Minecraft hit a peak of over 50 million players in a singular day, and 140 million players monthly. Minecraft has also been incorporated in many streamers videos such as ‘Mr. Beast’ and more. Recently, in the year of 2022, an iconic Minecraft player passed away; his name was Technoblade. Techno, was an amazing player both at the game naturally and in Mini-games, participating in the Minecraft Championship, where he placed first in MCC4. As a tribute to the streamers efforts, the Mojang developers added a crown on top of a pig on the loading screen of the game which was his skin in the game as well as the slogan which goes- ‘Technoblade never dies’. This was Techno’s most famous catchphrase.

A POSSIBLE MESSAGE THAT MAY BE READ IN THE GAME

‘Creativity has no limits’, not in this world at least. Minecraft, lets players from all ages creatively, independently, and naturally play the game themselves. From building houses hundreds of stories tall, to building contraptions that defy the laws of physics. Creativity is what led those players there. Incorporating real life scenarios through minigames allowed players to think about real life problems and how they might come to a plausible solution. As a player, I feel that Minecraft has brought me closer to friends and family. From playing with siblings and friends, I have created closer bonds through a creative and fun game.
