Minecraft. A game created by Markus Notch Personn using JAVA programming. Released in May of 2009, it provided a creative sandbox environment, allowing different users to interact, build, survive, or essentially do whatever they want without jurisdiction. Notch, with the help of Mojang, helped to popularise Minecraft and its freedom. Minecraft was then bought from Notch by Microsoft in 2014 for $2.5 Billion, and since then, Microsoft held control of the game as well as Mojang, maintaining it while keeping it user friendly. Minecraft, from users up to any age was kept as an ideological field of creativity and freedom.

GRAPHICS
Ever since its creation in 2009, Minecraft has been continuously updated throughout its life and along with its software, becoming popularised with modern society, so have its graphics been able to cope up with the modern times. As the times have advanced, the developers of Minecraft have focussed on key and minor details, for example, the detail of the Pig. They implemented a variety of color variations to show the cleanliness as well as the detail of the face, where the placement of specific features such as the eye and mouth, allow it to be seen as a ‘meme’ yet being user-friendly.

AUDIO IMPACT
Mojang and Microsoft both have tried to keep the game extremely cinematic, from boats splashing in the water all the way to an entire jukebox with a plethora of CDs entitled to it. The momentous sounds please gamers as they delve deeper and deeper into the depths of Minecraft. The sounds are perfected in such detail, that a snort can easily be identified as a pig, whilst a groan, as a zombie. These sound effects mesmerise gamers into further playing and sharing the game to others creating an impact on the gaming community. I personally like the predictable Creeper ‘hissing’ noise as it is a dopamine releaser as well as a functional thriller.
